** The owner of this Cimbalom has been a player for over forty years, mainly on movie soundtracks. You can hear this small Bohak Cimbalom on the score of Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring in the sequence called Concerning Hobbits where Gandalf rides on a horse and cart into Hobbiton to meet Bilbo Baggins. He was a member of the Hobbit Band for all three of the Lord of the Rings movies playing this Cimbalom

** In the early part of the 20th century, to meet the teaching demands of music institutions like Liszt Ference Academy of music in Budapest, Lajos Bohak devised a small portable Cimbalom and made a limited series of one hundred instruments, of which this is number 70. Although it is fully chromatic, the bass register is one octave shorter than the full size version and brass strings are used to give a very clear and delicate sound
