Good Rosewood Bechstein Model B Grand Piano, frame number 51027, circa 1900, supported upon octagonal tapering legs terminating in brass caps and castors, 80" long, 59" wide
*This piano has been in the same family for over 100 years and the vendor has written a brief history of the instrument below:
"My Grandmother, Cynthia Daniell purchased the piano new we think in about 1920 as the family were then living at Luscombe Farm, Bovey Tracy, Nr Chudleigh Devon and the Dealer (Paish & Co Torquay & Exeter) is labelled in Gold Leaf on the front lid of the instrument.
After the death of my grandfather in 1933 the family moved back to London.
My mother was a keen amateur soprano opera singer and loaned the piano one year in the 1960’s to the Bath Music festival where it was played in the Guild hall.
The piano has not been played much since those days as my mother developed arthritis which effected her ability to play.
My daughter played to grade 8 whilst of school age (2008) which was when the piano was last tuned"
*This piano is sold with a professional condition report recently commissioned by the vendor from All Instruments
