Fine French double bass attributed to Leon Bernardel of Paris circa 1880, the two piece swell back of handsome medium curl with similar wood to the sides and head, the table of a broad width grain and the varnish of a rich red-brown colour on a golden ground, back length 45", stop length 24", vibrating string length 42.25"
