Alan Murphy (1953–1989) was a highly respected British guitarist, celebrated for his session work and performances with bands such as Go West, Level 42, and Kate Bush. Renowned for his fluid, melodic playing and impeccable technique, Murphy became one of the most sought-after session musicians of the 1980s. His work with Level 42, particularly on their 1988 album Staring at the Sun, brought him wider recognition. Tragically, Murphy passed away in 1989 at the age of 35.
