French Mirecourt violoncello circa 1890 labelled Vuillaume á Paris,..., also stamped Vuillaume á Paris under the button, the two piece back of medium/fine curl with similar wood to the sides, the head of plainish wood, the table of a fine width grain and the varnish of a plum red colour on a golden ground, 29 3/4", 75.60cm
There have been restored cracks on the table running beneath each F hole to the lower bout edges, some damage repaired where the neck joins the body with some overvarnishing here, also the scroll has been refitted to the peg box, two short stress fractures under the fingerboard running down from the neck heel.
