*Joe Doe Guitars are the brain child of Ben Court, who designs and hand builds guitars that each have an interesting and fun story attached to them. The success of his concept led to him joining up with JHS Vintage to produce limited factory runs of his concepts and ideas

In the words of Joe Doe: 'Atomika, circa 1976. Not much information available on this guitar yet, though it seems to have been a prototype made in 1973 by Pepperjoys Inc, a Dallas toy manufacturer. The company was behind several successful board games such as Yats! and Stick it to Daddy but, following a class action for burn injuries caused by the bubblegum toy in 1971, the company tried to reposition itself by moving into the supposedly safer and less litigious musical instrument market. It didn't work out as state files tell us Paperjoys Inc filed for bankruptcy in 1974'
