Good English double bass probably by Georges Adolphe Chanot, with later neck and scroll carved with the head of a classical lady, length of back 39.75", stop length 20.75" and vibrating string length 40.25"

This bass has been considerably reduced in size and the head and neck are a much later addition, there has been repair work undertaken on the centre of the table clearly visible in the images, the back is slightly coming apart at the seem, various other repairs to the ribs, see images for guidance, personal viewing always advised
