Smith & Son, 9 Strand, London on a shaped plate above six o'clock to the matted centre with subsidiary seconds dial, enclosed by a silvered chapter ring, the substantial movement with deadbeat escapement and maintaining power, playing on four gongs and striking the hours on another, the case with long beaded moulded edged door inlaid with flowers and scrolling foliage, the hood surmounted by a rounded arched cornice inlaid to the front with a central lyre before a satinwood fanned background with trailing harebells, 97" high (large pendulum with brass bob and steel rod, three brass cased weights and keys)
