18th century German violin labelled Ioan.Carol.Kloz, Mittenwald, An.17**, the two piece back of faint medium curl with similar wood to the sides, the head of plainish wood, the table of a fine width grain and the varnish of a plum red colour on a golden ground, 13 15/16", 35.40cm
Poor condition. Repair to scroll. Appears as though it may have been completely off at some stage. Many repaired cracks to centre of top, one of which appears to be a bas bar crack. Damage / loss to lip of purfling on the top at the lower edge and also upper treble edge. Personal viewing strongly advised
