1955 Fender Stratocaster electric guitar, made in USA, ser. no. 7xx9; Body: two-tone sunburst finish upon ash body, chiselling to the cavities including the bass edge of the pickup cavities, edge of the worm rout, towards the bridge and two areas in the control cavity (it is thought the guitar may have had another guard and pickups at some stage with the chiselling allowing a better fit, however this anomaly has been seen on other early Strats with the thought that this could be a quick 'assembly line fix' to allow the guard and pickups to drop in - see images for guidance); Neck: maple, wear to back, 5-55 pencil date to end, veneer repair beside the B string ferrule to face of head, lower neck plate screws don't grab tight; Fretboard: maple, heavy groove wear throughout; Frets: refret; Electrics: all three pots replaced and dating to 1969, lead and earth wires re-soldered; Hardware: replaced nut, filler repair to bass side of pickup covers; Case: original hard case; Weight: 3.29kg; Overall condition: fair
