1968 Gibson Country Western acoustic guitar, made in USA; Back and sides: mahogany, heavy lacquer deterioration and crazing throughout; Top: natural spruce, heavy lacquer crazing and deterioration, slight lift to belly behind bridge, slight depression between sound hole and bridge; Neck: mahogany, similar lacquer deterioration as body, twenty fret rosewood fingerboard, slight lift to upper frets slightly affecting action and neck reset/work possibly required; Frets: good; Hardware: generally good, rusting to pickguard screws, one pickguard screw missing; Case: semi-rigid fibreboard case; Overall condition: fair
Generally in fair condition but not for age. It's certainly had a hard working life, most of the original finish has been worn away and what remains is not in a good state. There is some bellying to the top behind the bridge and some sinking in front of the bridge close to the sound hole. The bridge is lifting slightly and the neck has separated from the back slightly. Pickguard is lifting in a few places. Also what appears to be various small, round repairs to sides. Please see images for general guidance on condition.
