Breitling presented this watch to Andy Elson and is a unique piece bearing the QinetiQ1 logo.

2002 - Sponsored by defence and technology organisation QinetiQ, Andy Elson and Colin Prescot trained as cosmonauts and designed and built the largest manned balloon in history. The goal to fly to 132,000 feet seated on an open platform wearing space suits. Unfortunately despite several attempts it was finally abandoned following an irreparable tear of the balloon.

Breitling, the renowned aviation watch manufacturer, sponsored and/or assisted in a range of pioneering balloon record attempts. The global balloon flights between were the catalyst for the design and development of the iconic Breitling Emergency Watch with its integral distress beacon that transmits on 121.5 MHz. Breitling produced watches with unique dials to present to the pilots of some of the record attempts

Movement - currently functioning when briefly tested.
Dial - good.
Glass - a couple of surface marks.
Hands - good.
Case - a few small mild dings to the case sides and lugs.
Crown - adjusting correctly.
Bracelet - swelling to the links and light surface marks, wrist size 8.00'' approx.
