1950s Gibson Les Paul conversion electric guitar, made in USA; Body: later maple top upon original '50s mahogany body, top with light burst finish over wavy maple grain, light checking, back with dings and marks, filled original trapeze holes and filled strap button hole on the back towards the neck heel; Neck: mahogany, probably reprofiled as slimmer than expected, various dings, later applied '1960' serial number; Fretboard: original '50s Brazilian rosewood board; Frets: good, refret, oxidisation to upper frets; Electrics: working, pickups bearing 'Patent Applied For' stickers, pickup covers previously removed, early '70s potentiometers; Hardware: Kluson Deluxe tuners installed, evidence that Grover tuners were previously installed due to the ring marks on the front of the head, switch ring and tip appear period correct, pickguard, knobs also appear period correct, assortment of other hardware; Case: 1980s Gibson Chainsaw case; Weight: 3.97kg; Overall condition: good for age
*Purchased by the vendor in the early 1980s. The guitar appears to be a circa 1952 Les Paul, probaly converted in the early 1970s
