Good French violin circa 1820 by and labelled Louis Moitessier, Mirecourt, the one piece back of medium curl with similar wood to the sides and head, the table of a fine width grain and the varnish of a reddish-brown colour on a golden ground, 14 1/4", 36.20cm

There is a very small hairline crack in the sound post area on the back, there is a crack running up the violin from the top treble side F hole adjacent to the fingerboard, other cosmetic varnish issues clearly visible in the images. See all images for guidance, personal viewing advised.
