Fine and unusual ormolu mystery night mantel clock in the manner of Jean Eugene Robert - Houdin of Paris, the movement with chaff-cutter escapement in the manner of Paul Garnier, the 4" transparent dial with Roman numerals and arrow shaped single hand, within a gilt bezel supported upon an ornate stand modelled with griffins and before a candle sconce raised upon a dolphin support, the ornate square panelled base decorated with raised scrolling foliage and supported upon square bracket feet, the movement back plate and recessed base both stamped no.53, 13.5" high (key)
