£4,000
Good English gilded brass single train great wheel skeleton clock with passing strike, signed on a silvered plaque fixed to the front of the base James Condliff, Liverpool, the 4.75" silver chapter ring enclosing a skeletonised movement upon curving supports, over a rectangular plinth with ball feet and upon a mahogany base with rounded ends housing a gong, under a glass dome, 14.75" high
*Condliff's second series skeleton clocks are epitomised by their exquisite scroll frames. Condliff made two different types; the first being a slightly more slender example with balance wheel escapement, the second being a pendulum clock, as in this example with deadbeat escapement.
This clock appears to be in excellent working condition with only very minor knocks and bruises to the mahogany base, also two small chips to the back edge of the dome. See images for guidance, personal viewing always advised where possible.
*It is mentioned in the footnote that this is a second series skeleton clock.
