Very interesting mid 18th century violoncello of the Fussen School, bearing the Hill number R820 stamped to the end of the fingerboard, unlabelled, the two piece back of faint medium curl with plainish wood to the sides and later head, the table of a medium width grain narrowing to the flanks and the varnish of a reddish-brown colour on a golden ground, 28 1/2", 72.40cm, within a W.E.
