Fine ormolu cased singing bird automaton, engraved overall with flowering foliage upon an engine turned ground, operated by a sliding lever to the front opening an oval hinged cover to reveal the singing bird with coloured feathers  from a pierced foliate nest, with key-wind to the base, 3.75" wide, 2.5" deep, 1.25" high (key)

This bird automaton appears to be in good working order when wound, with the bird appearing when the lever is operated and then automatically retracting after the performance, the bird beak with damage and loss, there is some minor gilding wear to the lever and other prominent areas of the box.
