1951 Gibson L5-CES hollow body electric guitar, made in USA, ser. no. A9xx0; Finish: sunburst, attractive birds eye maple figuring to the back and sides, two small hairline cracks to the treble side beneath the treble tone control, a few small hairlines beneath the switch ring, finish rubbing to arm position, light checking, further dings and scrapes, but generally good for age; Fretboard: ebony, 3rd fret block marker slightly proud on the treble side; Frets: minor wear; Electrics: working; Hardware: replaced switch ring and tip, tarnishing to metal hardware, later strap button installed to the heel, replaced truss rod nut (original retained), truss rod cover missing screws, fretboard binding repairs; Case: original Lifton hard case; Weight: 3.37kg; Overall condition: good

*A rare first year L5 with label inscribed L5-SEC, which featured on fifty-one models until it was changed to CES in 1952. Only thirty-one of this model were made in 1951
