Good English tortoiseshell, ebonised and gilt metal mounted triple fusee boardroom clock, bearing the trade label fixed to the inside back door inscribed J.C. Jennens & Son, Wholesale Clock Manufacturers, 25 & 26, Great Sutton Street, Clerkenwell, E.C., the 7" brass arched dial with silvered chapter ring enclosing a matted centre and with chime/silent and Cambridge chimes/chimes on eight bells subsidiary dials to the arch, the movement with foliate engraved back plate playing on a nest of nine bells and striking the hours on a large gong, within a rounded arched stepped case fitted with caryatids to the canted corners and surmounted by a square caddy top and five foliate turned brass finials, 22" high (pendulum and keys)
Generally reasonable condition, there has been some restoration to the case and some further minor restoration needed, the left hand side glazing panel has a horizontal crack through the middle and the whole clock is in need of cleaning and minor refurbishment.
