Good English violoncello circa 1830 from The Kennedy Workshop, unlabelled, the two piece back of plainish wood with similar wood to the sides and head, the table of a medium width grain and the varnish of a dark brown colour on a golden ground, 29", 73.70cm
The general condition is quite poor, there are scores in the sound post area of the table, there are numerous other cracks clearly visible in the images on the table, there are further less significant cracks in the ribs, the back also has a hairline crack in the sound post area, there has been a professional repair made to the heel where the neck has been broken off.
