Good Italian violoncello labelled Officina Claudio Monteverde, Cremona; also signed in ink and dated 1923 on the label, the two piece back of medium/fine curl with similar wood to the sides and head, the table of a medium width grain and the varnish of a dark plum red colour on a golden ground, 29 3/4", 75.60cm, bow, soft case

The general condition of this violoncello is very good, there has been a repaired crack running from the lower treble side F-hole to the edge of the lower bout, no evidence of any other major damage or restoration, some small stress fractures to the table around the saddle.
