1967 Gibson Johnny Smith JSDN hollow body electric guitar, made in USA; Body: natural finished maple back and sides and spruce top, some minor lacquer checking and a few minor dings but generally very good for age; Neck: maple with head stinger; Fretboard: ebony with split block position markers, some splits to binding from shrinkage; Frets: good; Electrics: working, oxidisation to pickup covers from pickguard gassing; Hardware: generally good, some loss to gold plating, some gassing to pickguard; Case: original Lifton hard case with outer sleeve; Weight: 3.29kg; Overall condition: very good
*A clean original example of a 1967 Gibson Johnny Smith, albeit showing some typical age-related tarnishing to hardware. The guitar was purchased by the vendor in Australia in 1993 from the second owner. Interestingly, a letter from the second owner to the vendor states that the original owner was a friend of Bill Haley, who selected the guitar for him and shipped it from the US to Australia as a favour.
