Fine and rare French black marble, ormolu and bronze figural two train mystery mantel clock garniture, the movement back plate signed Bernoux, Paris, no. 3717, striking on a bell, the 4" canted black chapter ring enclosing a gilded centre with unusual pinwheel escapement, within a bow fronted stepped case with scrolling sides surmounted by the standing bronze figure of a robed maiden holding in her left hand a spindle, a wire thread of which is pulled by her raised right hand and carries a conical pendulum which interacts with an arm linked to the pinwheel escapement, the figure is raised upon a bow fronted shaped base plate signed A.B. Nadaud to one side and with a basket of yarn to the other, 24" high; also with a pair of matching black marble and bronze slender urns, 16.75" high.

The general condition of this clock garniture is reasonable with expected minor chips to marble edges, however, the pivot at the end of the conical pendulum is broken where it enters into the square on the marble top and it is estimated that this may take one or two hours of precise work to rectify.
