Rare American mantel clock made by the Year Clock Co of New York, model D 2 1847-8, the 4.25" cream dial inscribed Year Clock Co. New York. A.D. Crane's patent, within a gilt metal foliate repoussé surround, over a six brass ball pendulum, the inside back bearing the manufactures trademark label, the two part glazed door decorated with a frosted glass panel cut clear with a lyre amidst foliage, within a stepped case with four Corinthian columns, 21.2" high (pendulum and key) 

* This clock is sold with several letters including one from Sotheby's dated 21st December 1990 placing a value on it of £3000 to £4000. There are also numerous photographs taken of the clock and movement.
