Rare French 17th century 'Oignon' alarm single hand verge silver pocket watch by Garnier Á Partenay, circa 1680, signed fusee movement with large pierced engraved balance bridge and flat steel three arm balance, engraved and pierced barrel to alarm striking on a bell to the inner case and elongated Egyptian pillars, silver champlevé dial with single hand, Roman numerals, inner track, centre rotating Arabic alarm disc with blued steel indicator and two movement and alarm winding holes, finely pierced and engraved case with animals amidst trailing foliage, 52mm; with an embossed key with a hardstone matrix (the movement requires attention)

Movement - lacking fusee chain, requires repair, alarm functions, bell cracked.
Dial - generally good, some mild tarnishing.
Glass - good.
Hands - some light surface marks.
Case - good for the period, light surface marks, some mild tarnishing, bell cracked.
