Good and interesting two train turret clock, the 5.75" silvered chapter ring signed John Gatward, Hitchin 1819, the movement within a blue cast iron four poster frame with rack striking, 3.5" wide, 12.75" deep, 21.25" high (crank handle, wooden pendulum rod, metal pendulum rod and two large cast iron weights)

** Gatwards of Hitchin was established in 1760 and is still in business as the oldest family run jewellers in the UK going back eight generations. This turret clock was almost certainly manufactured by Thwaites & Reed of Clerkenwell in London whose origins date back to 1610 for Gatwards
