Interesting 19th century primitive small church bass with viol outline, unlabelled, back length 31 1/2", 80cm
This church bass is in generally quite poor condition, with the table not fitting flush to the ribs on the bass side, evidence of some moisture damage where the neck fits the body, several long cracks on the back and very worn fingerboard, further cracks to the ribs. This bow is in excellent condition. The back is flat and the table is essentially flat with a very slight curve between the f holes, the strings fitted are both gut and steel (two each), the vibrating string length is 26.25".
