*Sold on behalf of the original owner. Introduced in 1982, the JV series guitars were the very first Squier instruments available, and were high quality vintage style instruments with a great sound and authentic feel. This was at a time when the Squier name was introduced to indicate a Fender Japan export guitar (not the entry level instrument that the Squier name has become associated with). The very first 'Fender' JV models were produced for the Japanese home market, but due to pressure from overseas for an export range, it was decided that Fender Japan would export some cost effective models under the Fender 'Squier series' name. Neck dates and serial numbers show that these 'Squier Series' guitars were produced around two weeks after the first Fender JV's, (approx middle of April 1982) but would not find their way into UK shops until June or July of the same year. There are very few of these Fender logo models in existence and it is thought that less than ten of each model were shipped to the UK.
