Chris Cross (Ultravox) - studio used 1970s EMS Synthi AKS synthesizer, made in England, ser. no. 45524, with EMS Synthi KS keyboard and cable housed in original case

*Used by Chris Cross in the studio on many early Ultravox recordings. See video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITu8mQ-AqyA
where Chris recalls the synth being used on all of the bass synth parts of the first album 'Ultravox!', the 1978 'Systems of Romance' albums first single 'Slow Motion' and 'Western Promise' from the 1980 album 'Vienna'.

Launched in the early 1970s, the Synthi AKS is a portable modular analogue synthesizer made by EMS of England. The Synthi has become highly desirable amongst collectors, having been used by many influential artists such as Brian Eno, Tangerine Dream, Jean-Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk and Pink Floyd, who used a Synthi for their 1973 album ' The Dark Side of the Moon' to create the electronic riff for the track 'On the Run' and to play the solo on 'Any Colour You Like'.

More Information

Currently appears to be in good working order, although fully in depth functionality unknown. Some scuffs to the outer case but is free from cracks. Three of the feet are missing and new rubber feet put in place. The keyboard is not secured to the case and is missing the screws to do so. Includes the power cable and cable to connect the keyboard to the synthesizer but please note one of the pins to adjust the synths functions is missing. See images for general guidance
