Very fine and extremely rare Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch with the 3-6-9 Explorer dial and pointed crown guard case, ref. 5512/5513, circa 1962, serial no. 765xxx, gloss black 'Swiss' dial with small minute markers, hour baton markers, quarter 3-6-9 Arabic numerals, gilt and silvered dial text printing 'Rolex Oyster Perpetual 200m=660ft Submariner', Mercedes hands with sweep centre seconds, Oyster case with revolving black calibrated bezel insert, pointed crown guards with screw-down crown, calibre 1530 26 jewel movement, no. 28xxx, the inside case back stamped '5512' and dated '1.62' with service inscription date '1989', Rolex Oyster USA rivetted bracelet, stamped '77', case, dial and movement signed, bezel diameter 40mm

Movement - currently functioning.
Dial - The dial of a very nice gloss patina consistent to the period, the dial has been photographed out of the case and all imperfection can be viewed - there is a faint scratch/hairline running from the X across to the middle of the 2-3 position, small mark just below the 12 triangle marker, exclamation mark to the 'Swiss' at the 6 position has mild wear.
Glass - good.
Hands - nice patina with marks to the lume inserts - see images.
Case - double reference transition case marked 5513 between the case lugs, the inside case back '5512', typical marks as expected for the period with some rubbing to the lugs , the bezel possibly a service insert rotates freely - see all images for guidance.
Crown - triplock crown adjusting correctly.
Bracelet - USA Oyster bracelet stamped '77', generally clean condition, wrist size 7.5" approx .
