Hermès, historically, has a long relationship with Jaeger-LeCoultre dating back to the beginning of the 1900s through to the 1970s. Here is Etrier model which translates to horse stirrup irons which can be seen in the shape of the lugs. The Italians gave it the name ‘Luchetto’ associating this particular shape with that of a padlock.
