Interesting open back fretless banjo (circa 1880-90), with mother of pearl inlay to the fingerboard and friction pegs to the shaped head, the hoop with thirty tensioners (some not original), 12" original vellum head and with Equilla minstrel strings, case

The general condition is a little poor with considerable tarnishing to the brass hoop and wear to the skin, discolouration to mother of pearl dot inlay and spare hole in the head; the case is also in poor condition with splits to the top, missing key escutcheon and considerable wear to the plush lined interior, see images for guidance, personal viewing always advised where possible
