After Jean Francois Theodore Gechter (French 1796-1844), large and impressive bronze figural group, titled to the integral base - 'Louis XI et Quentin Durward', a scene from a Walter Scott Novel, 19" wide, 19" high

** Gechter depicts the moment when Durward saves Louis whilst hunting. Louis has dismounted to attack the boar, but slips in mud. Durward responds to the call of Louis' hunting horn and spears the boar, thus winning Louis' favour.
