George III mahogany serpentine knife box, the hinged cover with chevron inlay banded borders and oval paterae, with starburst paterae to the underside enclosing a divided grille, 9" wide, 13" high

Overall in fine condition, some historic veneer lifting the reverse of the hinged cover, some craquelure to the veneer across the front of the hinged cover and down the back of the box, interior bright and clean with good definition, likely replaced hinges, some sun bleaching to the front of the box by the escutcheon, please see detailed additional images attached as a guide.
