Michael Chapman - 1964 Gibson J50 acoustic guitar, made in USA, ser. no. 178871; Back and sides: mahogany, lacquer checking and dings as to be expected for age; Top: natural spruce, heavy checking, minor belly lifting below the bridge; Neck: mahogany, possibly over-lacquered; Fretboard: rosewood, minor groove wear to first position; Frets: minor wear, refret, minor oxidisation to upper frets; Hardware: later strap button added to neck heel, replacement tuners, original Klusons retained; Case: period hard case bearing various flight and tour labels, also a later protective Hiscox hard case, bearing a stencil 'MC05' and another '72', also bearing various flight labels and enclosing a large collection of set lists and other tour ephemera; Weight: 2.14kg

* Used extensively throughout Michael's career although never taken on the road. Used to record his final album 'True North'. See accompanying images showing Michael with the guitar
