Michael Chapman and Jimi Hendrix interest - 1969 Martin D-18 acoustic guitar, made in USA, ser. no. 245985; Back and sides: mahogany, lacquer checking and other minor marks throughout; Top: natural spruce, heavy play wear towards the sound hole caused by thumb and finger picks, a few stable hairlines, further lacquer checking and other marks; Neck: mahogany, a few dings and general light wear; Fretboard: rosewood; Frets: mild wear, oxidisation; Electrics: later under-saddle pickup fitted and wired through end pin; Hardware: generally good, later strap button added to the shoulder on the bass side of the neck heel; Case: period hard case bearing various flight and tour labels including 1992 Glastonbury Festival Acoustic Stage passes to the case handle, also stencilled 'Michael Chapman 4' to the case lid; Weight: 2.03kg
